Black Power [Poem]
Black Power.
There’s more power
in unity.
The royalty,
it speaks for itself,
so fluently
400 years of
mistreatment, so brutally
it’s been a long time coming,
real long, like eulogies
since back in slave ships,
filled with sickness & nudity,
to when MLK & others
paved a way for you & me
we walk around with pride,
unshaken & lucidly
we ain’t completely free,
so don’t vibe so foolishly
The melanin that makes up our skin,
yes you & me,
‘s worth more than any gold,
VV’s, or jewelry
Even in the face of
bad times & cruelty,
we shake back,
they hate the fact
that we’re strong,
can’t ruin me.
But regardless of that,
here is a fact, and truthfully,
we were made in love,
It exceeds,
just you & me
Freedom.
Just as much as was needed,
so crucially,
should be countered back with love
from above, not humanly
We’ve progressed from
where we once were...
or where we used to be,
& to that hate,
we’ve developed a sense
of immunity
It won’t stop here,
but it’s bout time for you to see
That being black is powerful,
both assertive & soothingly
though underdogs to society,
we triumph, continually
& the flavor we posses,
it affects
communities
We should use that power
to eliminate truancies,
and hold each other accountable,
"and that’s on inexcusably".
Love is hard,
but like Mario
it turns out so beautifully,
'cause I'd crush Bowser time again
to have Peach
in the coupe with me.
Black Power.
