Miss Communication & Mr. Understanding [Poem]

The nature of a mortal being,

so simple, yet so difficult

you wouldn’t think that

delivery in speech

would be so critical

sure, we find bad days

& difficulty communicating

but it’s crucially important

how you approach

an individual

of course, you’ll find a woman...

on the other hand,

a man,

both of which

were born with pairs of

nostrils,

feet & hands

some are not as fortunate

& others deemed subordinate

while others didn’t even get a chance

to meet their fam

humans, in our similarities,

might seem the same

but truth is, we’re unique,

& that there’s meaning behind each name

I have insecurities

while you might have impurities

but TRULY loving self

is no one else’s

game to play

the way this game is played’s

to come to terms

with who you are,

what played out

which way, and

what’s the meaning

‘hind those scars

abandonment

for me

is where my anger superseded,

seeds were rooted

while awards

in grade school

made Lou

“never foolish”

the truth is

both are curtains to

insecurities & egos,

but what was blurry’s

now much clearer

with the help of

two good people

due to so much evil,

& self-righteousness’ demandings,

I learned from

Mrs. Communication &

Mr. Understanding

miscommunication

is when someone

comes off wrong,

might made you feel a way,

& therefore,

something there was off

they might not know your story

or your deeper thoughts,

& background

so it sounds like

all a sudden

folk got balls to piss you off

Mrs. Communication,

on the other hand’s

unique,

the way she speaks to you

sounds so professional

& sweet,

it’ll take a man to church

how much she’s down

& down to earth

but what’s it worth if she won’t

learn to wait her turn

before she speaks?

on the other seat

is seated

Mr. Understanding

soon or later,

you’ll see why

his job is so demanding

he won’t have all the clues

but gains perspective

in your shoes,

so that itself would give

chaotic situations

better landing

that’s one way

I say you put out fire

without fanning

see woman as communication

& understanding, more manly

emotional intellect

along with

general respect

with much regard to your frustration

I can say

comes pretty handy

the two then

come together,

learn to

weather storms & mingle,

judge not from

one’s perspective

& let love

remain your symbol

no matter broke or rich,

together, people form a bridge

in which

by then, you’d tell that

Miss Communication’s

no longer single

they merge themselves together

something special,

like it’s magic,

fluid communication

is like rush hour

with no traffic

imagine going home

with no red lights & clearer roads

& then suppose

that a car accident

was never bound to happen

that’s like a perfect caption

for a picture,

but way bigger

communication works when

understanding

is right w her

it won’t all click right then

& why it’s highly recommended

when you get a pair of shoes

sometimes, you choose

a half size bigger

you make more room for growth

& your kicks’ll last much longer,

you can hit a Miss,

But 'Misters' makes their 'Mrs' stronger

just your tone of voice

& the selection of word choice

could make some noise

but in a way

that makes

communication fonder
